Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi might not have gotten off to a great start at the box office but it did manage to beat records on the first day itself. The Sonakshi SInha, Jimmy Sheirgill film collected Rs. 2.72 crore at the box office beating its predecessor which made Rs. 2.32 crore on the first day. Trade analysts are predicting an upward trend in the numbers over the weekend through strong word of mouth. Trade expert, Taran Adarsh, tweeted the numbers and wrote, "#HappyPhirrBhagJayegi has a slow start on Day 1... Fared better in North... Needs to witness substantial growth over the weekend + maintain a strong trend on weekdays to leave a mark... Fri ₹ 2.70 cr. India biz... First part had collected ₹ 2.32 cr on Day 1. [sic]"

The film received a lukewarm response from critics though Jimmy Sheirgill and Piyush Mishra stood out in the film completely. Our in-house critic, Sreeju Sudhakaran, wrote in his Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi review, "The scene-stealers of the film are Jimmy Sheirgill and Piyush Mishra. Jimmy, especially, is in rocking form this year, after giving us some class acts in Mukkabaaz and the underrated Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3. He uses his deadpan brand of humour to an impressive impact here, making even some of the blander lines sound chuckle-worthy."

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi's songs also became quite a hit with fans, especially Sonakshi's Swag Saha Nahi Jaaye. What are your thoughts on the film? Tell us in the comments below and stay tuned with us for more.
