One of the reigning queens in the late '80s to the early 2000s, Madhuri Dixit was often referred to as the IT girl of the industry. She, along with Sridevi and Juhi Chawla, enjoyed an immensely large fanbase and star-power in these years.

While Madhuri was known for her incredible performances in movies like Tezaab, Khalnayak, Pukar, Mrityudand, Lajja and Devdas, she is very popular with today's generation for her dance moves. Her dance moves in Ek Do Teen (Tezaab), Tamma Tamma (Thaanedaar), Dhak Dhak (Beta), Humko Aaj Kal Hai (Sailaab), Mera Piya Ghar Aaya (Yaarana), Channe Ke Khet Mein (Anjaam) etc still rule the dance floors.

Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit made such a good pair on screen, that there were reports that their romance even spilt into their private lives. However, it is said that Madhuri Dixit kept her distance from the controversial star, after his involvement in the 1993 Bombay blasts. After years of cold-shouldering each others, they are finally working together in Karan Johar's Kalank.

Salman Khan

Like his good friend Sanjay Dutt, even Salman Khan had an amazing onscreen chemistry with Madhuri, thus making Saajan so special with the love triangle. However, film-makers of the era failed to capitalise on this, with only Sooraj Barjatya doing full justice to their chemistry with Hum Aapke Hai Kaun.

Shah Rukh Khan

With Shah Rukh Khan in Devdas

Movies: Anjaam, Koyla, Dil Toh Paagal Hai, Devdas, Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam

This pairing started off on a shaky note what with failures of Koyla and Anjaam. But the late Yash Chopra showed us that there is quite a chemistry to explore between SRK and Mads in Dil Toh Pagal Hai. Devdas and Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam just reiterated that!

Movies: Dil, Deewana Mujhsa Nahin

Dil was a huge hit, so I wonder why the small failure of Deewana Mujhsa Nahi prompted film-makers to never cast Madhuri and Aamir Khan in a movie again.
