Gully Boy Teaser: Ranveer Singh Will Rap His Way Into Your Heart Straight from the Streets of Mumbai - Watch Video

The first footage of Zoya Akhtar's directorial Gully Boy is out. The teaser has been titled 'Asli Hip Hop - Trailer announcement' and reveals the date when longer footage of the movie will be released. We are introduced to Ranveer Singh as the aspiring rap artist from the dingy streets of Mumbai. The best thing about the teaser? Ranveer has rapped in his own voice for the part. Ranveer Singh rapping his way into your heart. Does it get better than this? The first footage is truly impactful with lyrics that resonate with the gentry enveloping whole of its 1 minute 29 seconds.

This glorious short teaser also introduces us to Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin in the movie. Apart from Ranveer Alia also leaves a good impression with her limited appearance in the trailer. This lady is certainly making all the right choices with her career. The video also announces that the first trailer of Gully Boy will release on January 9.

The first footage gives us a glimpse of the life of Ranveer's character. We see him turn to crime, in a brief shot. We see him rap his heart out, standing in the middle of a group of people who are cheering him on. We see him get embarrassed, as a man, probably his father, catches him rapping in front of a mirror. We also see the making of a huge star in him.

Gully Boy has been directed by Zoya Akhtar. This will be her second collab with Ranveer after Dil Dhadakne Do. The story of the film has been inspired by the life rap stars like Divine and Naezy.
