A new song, Doori, from the upcoming hip-hop based film, Gully Boy, has been released by the makers. The song, maintaining consistency and freshness, again features actor Ranveer Singh's rap. The music has been composed by Rishi Rich, who has done a stellar job at it. The lyrics of Doori gave the opportunity for a peculiar collaboration between Javed Akhtar and Divine. The two lyricists from extreme ends of the spectrum have come together for this song. The lyrics talk about the socio-economic gap that exists so visibly, yet ignores so comfortably, by humans. As said by the lead character in the trailer, this is the kind of rap that deserves our attention and a top spot on music charts. "You call this rap - check out my car, my shoes, my liquor, my girl?", he criticises popular raps.

Doori will undoubtedly tug at your heartstrings. Maybe even inspire rap artists in India to do a better job at this genre. The aspiring rappers sure can take a lesson or two from this number. Gully Boy Audio Jukebox: Twitterati Goes Gaga Over the Album of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt Starrer.

The flow of Doori is good. There is a certain melancholy in the music which is only elevated by the footage of the street dwellers, rag pickers, daily wage labourers, and homeless citizens. The intensity in Ranveer's eyes in the closeup shots impress to the core.

Gully Boy's music is a result of hard work of four years by over 50 collaborators. There are 18 songs on the soundtrack. Each track comes together to make the album seem like a story of its own.
