Good Newwz has turned out to be quite a good news for Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The comedy film featuring Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh is only Rs 23 crore shy of entering the 200-crore club at the box office. The film has been running in theatres for 13 days now. At the end of the 13th day, the movie was able to mint Rs 177.31 crore in total. From tomorrow, the fight to cross the Rs 200 crore mark is going to get extremely tough for Good Newwz. This Friday will see the release of a host movies including Deepika Padukone's Chhapaak, Ajay Devgn-Kajol's Tanhaji and Rajinikanth's Darbar. Akshay Kumar's Nirma Ad Spoofing Marathas Creates Controversy, Written Complaint Filed Against the Good Newwz Actor.

At the end of the 12th day, Good Newwz was at Rs 172.54 crore at the box office. So, in just one day it was able to earn close to Rs 5 crore. If we assume that the movie will earn the same amount today, it should be at Rs 183 crore at the end of the 14th day.

Did you know it was Akshay Kumar's choice to make Good Newwz? Karan had approached the actor for an entirely different film. After its narration, Akshay asked him what else he was making. KJo gave him a two line narration of Good Newwz and Akshay loved it, asking to make it with him. Good call.
