Gold vs Satyameva Jayate Box Office Collection: Akshay Kumar and John Abraham's Films See a Huge Decline on Day 2
It remains to be seen how the movies perform from Friday onwards.
It is nothing to be worried but, yeah, both Akshay Kumar's Gold and John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate have seen a significant decline on the second day at the box office. This came after some stupendous opening day collections on the first day. On opening day, Gold has managed to collect Rs 25.25 crore, while Satyameva Jayate has managed to collect Rs 20 crore. Both the films managed to have the record of being the biggest openers for their lead male stars (solo films). It also has to be remembered that the release date was August 15, which is a national holiday.
As August 16 is a normal working day, both the films have seen a huge decline in their collections, that too, more than double reduction in their collections. For Gold, trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted, "#Gold witnessed a decline on Thu... Biz should gain momentum from today onwards... Plexes hold the key... Wed 25.25 cr, Thu 8 cr. Total: ₹ 33.25 cr. India biz."
As for Satyameva Jayate, this is what he had to say, "#SatyamevaJayate saw a big dip on Day 2... Expected to show an upward trend today [Day 3]... Single screens/mass belt remains strong... Wed 20.52 cr, Thu 7.92 cr. Total: ₹ 28.44 cr. India biz."
It remains to be seen how the movies perform from Friday onwards. Both Gold and SM has a huge advantage of enjoying the 5-day extended weekend, after having released on a Wednesday. As of now, it is Akshay Kumar's film that has an upper hand over John Abraham's action thriller, both in terms of box office collections and reviews.
