Yet another star kid gets a big ticket entry into Bollywood. This time, it is the turn of Utkarsh Sharma, the son of director Anil Sharma, who is making his debut with Genius. His launchpad is directed by his father himself, who has earlier given Bollywood one of its biggest hits in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Now we have to see if the father-son jodi of Utkarsh and Anil will go either Hrithik-Rakesh Roshan way or Harman-Harry Baweja way.

The makers have released the first teaser of the movie, that is more of in introductory shot of the young debutante. It is an extension of the Holi teaser that came during the festival, but it it still doesn't bother to show a good glimpse of Utkarsh, as the colours try to hide him up.

Newbie Ishita is the leading lady in Genius, while Nawazuddin Siddiqui is reportedly playing the main villain. Ayesha Jhulka and Mithun Chakraborty also have important roles in the movie. Earlier in an interview with PTI, Anil said, “I was scripting only for him. Utkarsh as a person is very sincere at everything and has a lot of potential. I thought he can deliver. Utkarsh has all the qualities of a good actor. It was he who told us that how passionately he wants to pursue films. When he was in the US and studying film-making I worked on the script. Utkarsh thought it’s too early for him but then I said, ‘We have to do it right now’.”

Genius is scheduled to release on August 24, most probably clashing  with Diana Penty and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi.
