Director Anil Sharma is known for making one of biggest blockbusters of all time, Gadar - Ek Prem Katha. Starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead, the movie had released in 2001 on the same day as Oscar-nominated Lagaan. Though the Aamir Khan-movie was more critically acclaimed, Gadar turned out to be the bigger hit. In that movie, there was this young boy who played the son of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. That boy, who happened to be Anil's son Utkarsh Sharma has now grown up and is now making his debut in his father's next, Genius. Yup, you can say the N-word all you want!
The makers have revealed the first look of the movie as well as the release date. Since it is his son's launchpad, the first post is solely reserved for Utkarsh, who looks like he is either getting in a bike race, or going to rob something hi tech what with the leather gloves and ear-piece. The movie is scheduled to release on August 24, coming a week after Akshay Kumar's Gold (and perhaps Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika). It would definitely be clashing with Sonakshi Sinha's Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi.

Newcomer Ishita plays the female lead, while Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the antagonist. The movie will also star Ayesha Jhulka and Mithun Chakraborty.
Earlier speaking to PTI, Anil Sharma had revealed that he had written the movie only for his son. He had said, “I was scripting only for him. Utkarsh as a person is very sincere at everything and has a lot of potential. I thought he can deliver. Utkarsh has all the qualities of a good actor. It was he who told us that how passionately he wants to pursue films. When he was in the US and studying film-making I worked on the script. Utkarsh thought it’s too early for him but then I said, ‘We have to do it right now’.”
“Utkarsh is very confident. He is not nervous. He has never been nervous in his life because he is always focused. I have been in the industry for thirty years now and have seen lots of ups and downs. If you work good, you will definitely survive,” Anil has waxed fondly about his son.
