Bollywood knows how to celebrate each important day, be it the festivals or important national events. October 2 is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti. Named as the father of the nation now, Mahatma Gandhi was born on this day and his contribution to the freedom struggle of India has been prominent. This year marks as the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi and the nation is nostalgic with his memories. On this day, B-town biggies like Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Swara Bhasker were amongst the ones who shared their thoughts on the occasion. The Badshah of Bollywood tweeted, "Kyunki desh humse hai aur hum desh se... @SwachhBharatGov @PMOIndia #SwachhBharat #MyCleanIndia." His tweet was in the context of widely practiced 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan'. He urged his fans to contribute in keeping the city clean by differentiating the wet and dry waste in their homes.
On the other hand, the Sui Dhaaga star, Anushka wrote, "This #GandhiJayanti, we salute the teachings of the man who's truly Made in India. Let's celebrate his spirit with #SuiDhaagaMadeInIndia. @Varun_dvn @yrf @SuiDhaagaFilm." She attached a video of scenes from her film with Varun Dhawan here. The film is interestingly loosely based on one of the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and she proudly shared it with the fans.
The Veere Di Wedding actress, Swara, tweeted a message and a poster. She wrote, "#MahatmaGandhi more relevant for #India than ever before! #GandhiJayanti #NeverForget." She shared a poster that says 'You have to choose between love and hatred.'
