After delivering a terrific performance and tasting box office success with Badla, Taapsee Pannu is now being praised for her act in Game Over which came last week. Directed by Ashwin Saravanan, the home invasion thriller opened to amazing reviews from the critics on June 14. However, that didn't help the movie in getting a good start at the box office. Taapsee starrer failed to get cash registers ringing on day 1 as it merely raked in Rs 97 lakh on Friday. But the good word of mouth came into play on Saturday and Game Over witnessed some growth in its collection. Game Over Box Office Collection Day 4: Taapsee Pannu's Film Is Slowly Gathering Momentum, Rakes in Rs 6.09 Crore
After doing below average business over the first weekend, Game Over gathered momentum on Monday and minted Rs 1.14 crore. And though the film saw a drop on Tuesday, it wasn't too big as it collected Rs 1.07 crore at the domestic box office.
Revealing the same, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter a while back and wrote, "#GameOver Fri 97 lacs, Sat 1.94 cr, Sun 2.04 cr, Mon 1.14 cr, Tue 1.07 cr. Total: ₹ 7.16 cr. India biz. All versions... Language-wise breakup: #Hindi ₹ 2.93 cr, #Tamil ₹ 2.20 cr, #Telugu ₹ 2.03 cr." Game Over Box Office Collection Day 2: After a Dull Opening, Taapsee Pannu's Film Picks Up Pace at the Ticket Windows
Apart from Taapsee's film, four more Hindi movies released on June 14 but none of them packed a punch at the box office including Tamannah Bhatia and Prabhu Deva starrer Khamoshi. A remake of Hollywood film Hush, Khamoshi is also a home invasion thriller but unlike Game Over, it failed to find an audience at the cinema halls and turned out to be a total washout.
