After delivering a hit in the form of Badla earlier this year, Taapsee Pannu is back with yet another thriller titled Game Over. The film which is directed by Ashwin Saravanan arrived in theatres yesterday and garnered rave reviews from the critics all across. Apart from lauding Pannu's terrific performance, the critics have been highly impressed with the engaging storyline of the film and its execution. But despite all of these factors, Game Over took a dull opening at the Indian box office on Friday. In fact, the home invasion thriller even failed to reach the Rs 1 crore mark at the domestic BO. Game Over: 10 Iconic Horror/Thriller Movie References You Can Catch in Taapsee Pannu’s Horror Thriller

Apart from Game Over, four other Hindi films hit the screens yesterday, however, none of them managed to pack a punch at the ticket windows. A report in the Boxofficeindia.com states, "The five new Hindi releases were Game Over, Khamoshi, Khel Khallas, Kissebaaz and Rescue. The best collections were for Game Over at around 60-70 lakh nett while next best was Khamoshi at around 10 lakh nett. These two were bad enough but the other three even failed to register any collections. "

From Hollywood, fantasy sci-fi film Men In Black: International was the one that made it ways to the Indian cinema halls. And surprisingly, it turned out to the best performing movie at the box office out of all the releases. According to Boxofficeindia.com, it minted Rs 2.75 crore on Friday after opening to decent reviews from the critics. Men in Black: International Movie Review: A Humdrum Reboot That Relies Too Much on Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth’s Ragnarok Magic

Coming back to Game Over, it has been released in Tamil and Telugu as well. However, to ensure overall good office figure, Ashwin's directorial venture will have to pick up the pace at the ticket windows over the first weekend. So let's wait and see whether Taapsee's film gets a boost courtesy the positive word of mouth.
