From Romancing in Switzerland To Hair-Flying Dramatic Entries, 5 Bollywood Clichés in Hindi Movies We Need To Get Rid of ASAP!
Here's taking a look at 5 highly exaggerated situations that Bollywood movies need to be done away with ASAP!
After reading the headline, you might want to argue with me that Hindi cinema is changing and that a lot of Bollywood movies are now more content driven than ever. Agreed. Not. To support my view I have listed down 5 instances from recent (read: RECENT) movies that prove we still have a long way to go! Here's taking a look at 5 highly exaggerated situations that Bollywood movies need to be done away with ASAP!
Hitting 20-30 Villains all at one time - Jai Ho, Baaghi, Baaghi 2
Here's one more
This happens in most Salman Khan movies. And now, Tiger Shroff too seems to have joined the bandwagon. The above stills from Race 3 and Baaghi 2 are proof!
The Use of Cuss Words - Veere Di Wedding
Unnecessarily using cuss words is the new trend. Some movies use it only for the trailer; and eventually, those cuss words and the profane language don't even make it to the film.
Getting Drunk After Having the First Sip - Gold
This happens in a lot of movies and I bet you can't deny that. One such instance is the song “Chad Gayi Hai” from Akshay Kumar's Gold. I mean, who even gets drunk on the first sip of alcohol? Seriously?
The Dramatic Entry - Sonu Ke Tittu Ki Sweety, Hero
(0): 52 onward) I don't know what Bollywood’s obsession with hair flying high in the air is! Plus there is music playing in the background when the actor see his heroine for the first time. C'mon, we all know that can never happen in real life. Oh and how can we forget, the flexing of the muscles! Take for instance Sooraj Pancholi in Hero. Or any lead actor of a typical masaledar Bollywood movie!
Singing Songs on Ice-clad Mountains - Right from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge to Race 3 - this just never ends!
And the one from Race 3
Kindly watch all Karan Johar movies. Period.
Bollywood has an international reputation for being unrealistic. Despite new-age movies coming up with content that is more gripping, intense and deals with real issues, Hindi movies still can’t get rid of its clichés – it’s becoming predictable and audience are tired. Probably because the filmmakers think that’s what we want, but the audience is now exposed to global cinema and frankly find all the exaggerated clichés are embarrassing. Let's hope and expect things to change soon!
