Friendship Day is fast approaching. Celebrated this year on Sunday, August 5, it's a great time to catch up with friends and have a reunion. And what better way to catch up than go for a great movie together? But since the rains have been playing spoilsport this monsoon, we have a suggestion. 3 Idiots

Rancho (Aamir Khan), Farhan Qureshi (R Madhavan) And Raju Rastogi's (Sharman Joshi) friendship is both believable and entertaining. It makes us remember our friends in college and all the mischief we would do with them. Dosti

One of the oldest movies in the list, Dosti should be on your watch list if you enjoy classic old Bollywood films. The film is a story of Ramu (Sushil Kumar) and Mohan (Sudhir Kumar) who help each other through all hardships.

Kai Po Che

Based on Chetan Bhagat's book 3 Mistakes of My Life, Kai Po Che is about three friends who are separated due to circumstances but eventually come back to each other when they realise it is their friendship that is greater than everything else. The film has a backdrop of communal riots and show the journey of three friends amidst religious tension.

Sholay

No list of Bollywood films on friendship is complete without the mention of Sholay. The film’s characters Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) and Veeru’s (Dharmendra) camaraderie is so iconic that they have become synonymous with friendship.

Dil Chahta Hai

The journey of Akash (Aamir Khan), Sameer (Saif Ali Khan) and Sidharth (Akshaye Khanna) is something everyone relates to. Each character is distinct and lovable in his own right. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

It is probably the Bollywood film that first popularised the idea of friendship day in India and made friendship bands cool. Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and Anjali’s (Kajol) story of friendship and romance is now a cliché but was the coolest thing in the time it released. If you want to go on a 90s nostalgia trip, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is your go to film.

Anand

This film starring Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan has a beautiful underlined tone of friendship. The friendship between Bhaskar (Amitabh Bachchan) and Anand (Rajesh Khanna) is endearing and their journey together teaches many wonderful life lessons of love and friendship.

Rang De Basanti

This journey of a gang of friends ready to sacrifice their lives for the country is a must watch with your gang. The film has many high points and it will not only get you emotional about friendship but also fill you with feeling of immense patriotism.

Sanju 

The latest film on this list is Rajkumar Hirnai's Sanjay Dutt's biopic, Sanju. The journey of Sanju (Ranbir Kapoor) and Kamli's (Vicky Kaushal) endearing friendship who remain with each other through thick and thin is worth a watch. There is every element of friendship like love, compromise, misunderstanding etc., beautifully woven in the film.
