Unlike a regular star wife, Kiran Rao has always won our respect with her non-starry (no pretence whatsoever) persona. Easy to chat with and very difficult to argue with, Kiran is a darling. She never acted like---Hello! Here's Mrs Khan! Take note! On superstar hubby Aamir's special day, Kiran brought the nonchalant kid in her out absolutely gleefully. Those innocent expressions, those over-sized geeky glasses and the complete absence of the mandatory starry air made Kiran so differently conspicuous!

Known for her directorial brilliance as indeed for her cinematic sensibility, Kiran has always maintained her individuality with an  unmistakable portfolio. Any other star wife would have sauntered in front of the shutterbugs in a glitzy gown, given the occasion, but Rao kept the affair simple and elegant! And we loved it!
