Facebook and its CEO Mark Zuckerberg is going through some really rough waters after the social networking giant has been accused of data breach. There have been allegations against Facebook for letting out data of millions of subscribers to Cambridge Analytica, a UK-based data analysis company that used the data for the Donald Trump's Presidential campaign and the Brexit campaign, which Zuckerberg accepted of admitting.
Many celebs have removed their Facebook accounts, especially from the West, over the mistrust issues with Zuckerberg's company. Now joining them on deleting his Facebook account is our very own Farhan Akhtar. The actor has announced on Twitter that he has deleted his Facebook account. Though he has not given any specific reason as to why he is deleting the account, it is assumed he is doing so over the data breach news. However he has not deleted his official fan page, only his personal account.
This is what he wrote,
Good morning. This is to inform you all that I have permanently deleted my personal Facebook account.
However, the verified FarhanAkhtarLive page is still active.

This is quite expected from Farhan Akhtar who is known as one of the most socially conscious actors in Bollywood. He has been one of the very few Indian celebs who is not afraid to raise his voice against a social cause, never might the backlash that might follow over it. We have to see if other Bollywood celebs will follow his suit and delete their accounts.
Many other celebs have deleted have deleted their Facebook accounts like Space X's Elon Musk, Singer Cher, singer Adele, singer Ed Sheeran, rapper Kanye West, actor Emma Stone, model Kendall Jenner, singers Rihanna and Demi Lovato, Star Wars star Daisy Ridley and even pop singer Justin Bieber.
