Farah Khan Roundtable: Salman Khan Opens Up on His Screenwriting Days; Reveals Father Salim Khan Helped Him During Acting Debut in ‘Biwi Ho to Aisi’ (Watch Video)

Prime Video had a special roundtable featuring the legendary writer-duo Salim-Javed and their children Salman Khan, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. The conversation saw them delve into their journey in the industry while interacting with host Farah Khan.

Amazon Prime Video had a roundtable conversation with legendary screenwriting duo Salim-Javed, whose latest show, Angry Young Men, is currently streaming on the platform. The legendary writer duo were joined by their children and executive producer of the series Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar and Salman Khan. Salman Khan Wanted To Be a Director-Writer in His Early Days

Salman, one of the biggest superstars in the country, opened up about his early days in the industry while answering questions from host Farah Khan. He revealed that when he started in Bollywood, he handled all his writing work independently without seeking help from his legendary father. However, after he began to find success, Salim Khan occasionally lent a hand. Speaking about this, Farah Khan asked Salman if he ever wanted to be a writer while growing up. Salman replied, "Director and writer." She then joked that he was "too good-looking, so he became an actor". The Sikandar actor recalled how people used to advise him to take up acting when he approached them with scripts to direct a project.

Salman made his acting debut in the 1988 film Biwi Ho To Aisi, playing a supporting role. Reflecting on the film, Salman shared how his father, Salim Khan, spontaneously advised the director on a scene which ended up being perfect. Farah Khan later spoke about how Farhan Akhtar had already remade one of Salim-Javed's popular films, Don. She then asked Salman which film he would remake if he wished. He replied "Sholay". On the work front, Salman Khan, last seen in Tiger 3, is currently shooting his next film, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss. The action movie produced by Sajid Nadiadwala features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.
