Aiyaary was touted as one of the big releases of this year. The movie that was being helmed by much-acclaimed director Neeraj Pandey and the one that starred an unconventional duo like Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra in it had to create a stir. However, film critics and even the audiences were disappointed by its end results, and the film, unfortunately, tanked at the box office. While you can't blame the performances in the movie, nor can you blame the direction, then what do you think led to its disastrous outcome? We recently got in touch with Manoj Bajpayee to have an elaborate chat on his upcoming release. When we asked the talented actor if he gets disappointed when films like Aiyaary don't work, he was quite clear that it doesn't bother him as an actor.  He said, 'No, I think it was directed very well, it was made very well. It's just that the scripting was quite experimental and I am very happy with the manner it has shaped up. I have seen the film and there are certain sequences... the way I have pulled off certain sequences, I am quite proud of myself.' Going further he explained why the movie didn't work. "It didn't work for its own reasons. There was too much shifting of dates and if you remember, it became really difficult for us to stick to one date. Other two films were changing their dates, so the audience got confused with the date of release. However, he's definitely unperturbed by its failure. When films like Baaghi 2 and Satyameva Jayate wreck havoc at the box office, there's no actor in this work who would not be proud and happy. Speaking of Satyameva Jayate, Manoj even revealed that if Milap Zaveri ever plans a sequel of that film, there's no way he would make it without him (Manoj) and John.
