Yami Gautam is having a fantastic year. She started off 2019 with Uri: The Surgical Strike, which made big bucks at the box office. Her latest release, Bala, has also collected more than Rs 100 crore at the worldwide box office and it still running in theatres. Yami's performance is being loved by all. The actress plays the role of a TikTok star in it, which struck a chord with the audience, given the current craze for the app in the world. On asked if she was aware with the world of TikTok, Yami said, "No. The first thing that I did after signing the film was downloading the app." She said that once her sister asked her to feature in a video, when the app was called Musically. She did not understand what the app was then, but her sister had informed that it was big.

"I made a secret account and followed so many people. And no celebrities. There were just those TikTokers. There were so many funny people. They were so funny, bizarre, videos. And I was just shocked. I asked if this is what I had to do, and they said yes and you have to make it just as believable," she added.

Yami also added that she rehearsed everyday to make TikTok videos. The actress added that she would like to continue making videos on the app.
