Kangana Ranaut has opened up about the delay of her film Emergency. Confident in the film, she stated, "There is nothing wrong with my film," showing her faith in its content. Kangana also remarked that if Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale is considered a terrorist, then her film deserves to be released. In an interview with News18, Kangana defended her film by pointing out that objections are coming from a small fraction of people. Emergency stars Kangana Ranaut alongside Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, and Shreyas Talpade. ‘Emergency’ Postponed: Kangana Ranaut Announces Delay of Her Directorial Debut Due to CBFC Clearance (View Post).

Kangana remarked, “It is our history which has been intentionally hidden. We are not told about this. Bhale logo ka zamaana nahi hai,” and added, “My film is ready to be released. It has received certification from the censor board. Four historians supervised our films. We have the proper documents. There is nothing wrong with my film. But some people call Bhindranwale a saint, revolutionary or a leader. They threatened via pleas (to ban her film). I have also received threats. Previous governments have declared Khalistanis as terrorists. He was not a saint who was sitting in a temple with an AK47.” Kangana continued, “Only some people have an objection to my film; they are also inciting others. I don’t think 99 per cent of the people of Punjab consider Bhindranwale a saint. He is a terrorist and if he is a terrorist, my film should be released.”

She also highlighted the financial repercussions of the delay, saying, “Till when will we continue to play safe? I do not think like this. I never thought people would have an objection to Bhindranwale being shown as a terrorist. I am being tortured. It is so embarrassing for me. We also faced losses. My movie was cancelled just 4 days back.” ‘Emergency’: Kangana Ranaut’s Upcoming Film Faces Censor Board Hurdles Amid Release Date Pressures; Actress Says, ‘I’m Determined To Go to Court To Protect My Film’.

Emergency’ Facing Backlash From Sikh Organisations

The film has encountered considerable backlash, with Sikh organisations like the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Akal Takht calling for an immediate ban. They accuse the film of trying to "character assassinate" Sikhs. This controversy has contributed to the film's delays, as various Sikh groups argue that it portrays their community negatively.
