Petrol prices are on the rise and the common man is suffering the brunt of this problem. Twitterati is taking to social media to lash out their frustration at the current government for not trying to reduce the prices of fossil fuels, something the ruling party promised before their ascension to power in the 2014 General Elections. Some of them have even trolled the celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Vivek Oberoi and others for talking about petrol price hike during the UPA regime but are silent now. And now their latest target is producer Ekta Kapoor, not for being silent, but for having a completely whimsical take on the whole issue.

Ekta Kapoor was asked about the rise in petrol prices at the audio success party of Veere Di Wedding, that was also attended by the stars of the movie. To which she replied, "Even if petrol prices are at its highest, men will take women for drives & in today's time, women will take men for drives. This isn't the movie that you're going to stop watching as at this time you need to spend less on driving & more in theatre." Give it to Ekta Kapoor to promote her movie even when answering on a serious issue about petrol price hike.

Naturally, Twitterati couldn't see the humour in Ekta Kapoor's take on the whole issue. They have taken to social media networking site to school her on the seriousness of the whole issue. Check out some of the reactions here -

Someone just made sense!

Ah, okay...We didn't say it!

Now we realise why Akshay Kumar and co are silent on the issue. Better not say anything than saying something silly and get trolled for the same.
