While Vicky Kaushal's latest outing Uri: The Surgical Strike is refusing to slow down, Sonam Kapoor's unusual love story Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, on the other hand, is having a tough time finding an audience at the cinema halls. The film, which also features her father Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Juhi Chawla, and Regina Cassandra, released last week on February 1 and got off to a very slow start with occupancy of around 10% during morning shows on the first day itself. Though the film did pick up business over the weekend, ELKDTAL still didn't manage to rake in a decent amount of money at the BO. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga Box Office Collection Day 3: Sonam Kapoor's Unusual Love Story Is Struggling to Stay Afloat, Earns Rs 13.53 Crore.
According to Boxofficeindia.com, the Sonam starrer failed to get cash registers ringing on Monday and ended up earning merely Rs 1.50 crore at the India box office. This means the film's total collection as of now stands around Rs 15 crore which is frankly speaking below average.
Further, the Boxofficeindia report stated, "Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga sealed its fate on Monday as collections went down to 1.50 crore nett. The drop is far too much for a film that did not open and occupancy is too low for it to stand any chance." Anil Kapoor: If I Ever Direct a Film It Will Only Be So That I Get To Direct Sonam.
Though Sonam and Anil Kapoor's first film together opened to decent reviews, the film it seems hasn't wowed the audience with its hatke and very much relevant storyline. If Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga continues to perform poorly, which looks like it will, then the film's lifetime business could very well end up being less than a like The Accidental Prime Minister.
