Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer Dream Girl is having a dream run on the box office. The comedy film with the national award winner in the lead, had every one’s rib tickled. However, now, after all this rain of positivity over the flick, there comes a little block in their happiness. The song “Dhagala Lagli Kala” has been removed from the digital platforms, as it violated copyright issues. Dream Girl Song Dhagala Lagali: Riteish Deshmukh, Nushrat Bharucha, Ayushmann Khurrana Dance Their Hearts Out in This Catchy Track, But is It Apt for Ganeshotsav?

The song is the remix of the song from Dada Kondke’s 1978 Marathi film Bot Lavin Tithe Gudgulya. It was a peppy number with not Ayushmann and Nushrat in the lead but also Riteish Deshmukh in a special appearance. Saregama India, who owns the rights of the original music album, filed a petition. Following this, the Delhi high court restricted Balaji Balaji Motion Pictures, Zee Entertainment, and Alt Digital from using any part of the original track. The track was eventually removed from every platform.

In this case, the filmmakers won’t be really affected by this omission as it was merely a promotional song. The track was released to ‘celebrate the vibe of Ganesh Chaturthi’ just ahead of the festival. Of course, the song in reality had nothing to do with the festival or the vibe of it but it just added to list of promotional Bollywood songs. Speaking of the film, it is a smashing hit already, with Ayushmann once again emerging as a versatile star. What are your thoughts on the song?
