So why Dream Girl deserves to Ayushmann's highest-grossing opening weekend movie? Dream Girl was released on a Friday, and had a three-day opening weekend, where it made Rs 44.47 crore. Meanwhile, Badhaai Ho came out on October 18, 2018, which was a Thursday. So the movie had a four-day opening weekend.
What's more the festival of Dussehra also fell on the same date, giving Badhaai Ho a holiday advantage. If we only look at the film's three-day collections, Badhaai Ho has earned about Rs 32.3 crore. So if we take out the holiday and the extended weekend advantage, then Dream Girl deserves to be Ayushmann's highest opening weekend earner. Agree?
