Ayushmann Khurrana has never seen a single flop since Bareilly Ki Barfi turned out to be a sleeper hit at the box office in 2017. His subsequent releases, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, AndhaDhun, Badhaai Ho and Article 15, have all been hits in various capacities. Badhaai Ho turned out to be the highest-grossing film for the actor, while AndhaDhun gave Ayushmann his first National Award for the Best Actor. Now his latest film, Dream Girl, is all set to turn out to another big hit for the actor. Dream Girl Box Office Collections: Ayushmann Khurrana's Comedy Drama Earns Rs 44.57 Crores Over the Opening Weekend.

Dream Girl is a comedy film directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, who has also written the dialogues, that turned out to be the most favourable aspect of the film. Dream Girl, that came out on September 13, got a very good response both at the box office and from the critics. It gave Ayushmann his highest opening day figures and did a more than decent business over the weekend, earning Rs 44.67 crore. However, it may not be considered as Ayushmann's movie with the highest-grossing opening weekend figures, with Badhaai Ho beating the film by a whisker. And yet, it deserves to earn that distinction. Before we get into explaining why, let's look at the five top opening weekend grossers for the actor, ranking from the highest to the lowest.

So why Dream Girl deserves to Ayushmann's highest-grossing opening weekend movie? Dream Girl was released on a Friday, and had a three-day opening weekend, where it made Rs 44.47 crore. Meanwhile, Badhaai Ho came out on October 18, 2018, which was a Thursday. So the movie had a four-day opening weekend.

What's more the festival of Dussehra also fell on the same date, giving Badhaai Ho a holiday advantage. If we only look at the film's three-day collections, Badhaai Ho has earned about Rs 32.3 crore. So if we take out the holiday and the extended weekend advantage, then Dream Girl deserves to be Ayushmann's highest opening weekend earner. Agree?
