The makers of Doosra have unveiled the film’s trailer and it is impressive! This upcoming flick is a tribute to the Indian cricket team’s inspiring win at NatWest 2002 final. Director Abhinay Deo has helmed films such as Delhi Belly, Force 2, Blackmail and many others. Doosra, based on India’s historic one-day match victory against England in 2002, looks promising. The trailer highlights the famous shirt-swirling celebration of then cricket captain Sourav Ganguly at the Lord’s balcony after India won the match. Produced by Rohan Sajdeh and Masha Sajdeh, Doosra features Lipstick Under My Burkha fame Plabita Borthakur and Slumdog Millionaire actor Ankur Vikal in the lead. Director Abhinay Deo said in a statement, “Sourav Ganguly marked the end of an era, the end of the submission. His one move at the NatWest final was so powerful and brought such a huge paradigm shift in our thinking. This film captures this through the life of a girl living in a patriarchal family suppressed by society and societal obligations. The poster of the film is only the first look. There are several more layers that audiences will understand once they watch the trailer.” The release date of the film is yet to be announced.
