Do Patti, directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and penned by Kanika Dhillon, has hit Netflix on October 25, 2024, featuring an impressive cast that includes Kajol, Kriti Sanon, and Shaheer Sheikh. This film marks a notable milestone for Sanon, as it is her first production venture under the Blue Butterfly Films banner, alongside Kathha Pictures and Vipin Agnihotri Films. This Netflix thriller aims to draw viewers into a suspenseful world filled with intrigue and intense character dynamics. However, critics have pointed out that the plot of Do Patti is somewhat ‘predictable’. ‘Do Patti’ Song ‘Raanjhan’: Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh Star in a Heartfelt Musical Track Sung by Parampara Tandon (Watch Video).

The plot of Do Patti reads, “A puzzling investigation leads a no-nonsense cop down a dark path involving the vicious rivalry between twin sisters and the volatile man they both love.” Take a look at what critics have to say about this newly released film. ‘Do Patti’ Trailer: Kajol As Tough Cop Tries to Unravel Mysterious Case in Nail-Biting Netflix Thriller; Kriti Sanon in Intriguing Double Role.

India Today: “Do Patti is a performance-oriented story, and it's disappointing to see two otherwise good actors feeling the need to overplay their roles. The biggest turn-off about Do Patti is its highly predictable climax, which also exposes the loopholes in the way writer Kanika Dhillon and the director have treated the legal aspects of their story.”

The Indian Express: “There’s enough here for a juicy, substantive drama. But the unpacking turns more into an unravelling, mainly because the writing is shallow, and the characters lack depth. This is disappointing, given that Dhillon had come up with the deliciously wicked ‘Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba’ just a few months back.”

NDTV Movies: “Do Patti, scripted by Kanika Dhillon, has an old trope at its core. Do Patti kicks off with a paragliding outing gone awry. Do Patti is saddled with a weak hand. It needed much better cards to make a game of it.”

Scroll.in: “The 127-minute movie is mostly flat and uninvolving, sparking to life only in its unstinting depiction of the violence endured by Saumya. Despite two Kriti Sanons and Kajol, as well as Shaheer Sheikh’s worthy antagonist, Do Patti lurches from scene to scene before clumsily arriving at a predictable destination.”

News18: “A weak link in the film, however, is the anti-climax. It underwhelms the experience a little bit and could’ve been blended into the narrative in a more seamless fashion. By the end of it, you’ll realise that it was just a tool for the makers to send out a social message.”

Despite its star-studded cast and the promise of a thrilling experience, Do Patti has received a lukewarm response from critics, who feel that the film does not live up to its potential.
