Diwali is not just a festive period for Indians, but even for Bollywood movies. The festival has given us some memorable hits like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Raja Hindustani, Krrish 3, Om Shanti Om, Golmaal 3 among others. For Diwali 2024, we have two major Hindi releases coming out on November 1. There is Anees Bazmee's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which stars Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Vidya Balan and Triptii Dimri. And then there is Rohit Shett's Singham Again, which has an ensemble cast in Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor, with a cameo by Salman Khan. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ Box Office: Will Madhuri Dixit’s Dance-Off With Vidya Balan Prove Lucky for Kartik Aaryan-Starrer? Here’s Why We Think So!

While this would be Kartik Aaryan's Diwali debut, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar are old horses when it comes to having movie releases during the festival period with their share of hits and flops. If we only see the Diwali movie releases from 1990, Ajay has 12 releases (if you include Sooryavanshi, where he has an extended cameo), and Akshay has 11 movie releases. There is one other superstar who has nearly the same amount of movie releases, and what's more, he has a 100% success rate, and that's Shah Rukh Khan! From Baazigar in 1994 to Happy New Year in 2014, Shah Rukh Khan has been delivering hit after hit during this holiday period, though now he seems to prefer Christmas or Eid for his releases.

In this box office feature, we look at some of the present bankable leading men and their Diwali movie releases (not counting cameos and guest appearances, but yes to extended cameos), while also seeing who has the best box office success rate (the answer is already given) and who has the worst (flops and average grossers considered here).
