There is a lot to like about Bollywood this year. We have the hints that audiences are tired of being served the same unpalatable stuff wrapped in a fancy package, and want to try something good and different. The transition is slow but happening, as some of the regular entertainers do take off a flying start (Baaghi 2, Race 3, Gold). However, it is some of the better-made, better-scripted films that turn out to be the most profitable ones. Like Stree or Badhaai Ho or RaaziRs 100 Crore Club: Ayushmann Khurrana Starrer Badhaai Ho Crosses The Mark on 17th Day.

2018 is also the year when Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor did something that many thought only a Salman Khan or Aamir Khan could do. Enter the Rs 300 crore club. In a year, where the bigger guns couldn't make much of a huge blast, it was the gen-next that made the most impact. In this Diwali special feature, we celebrate 10 such stars who were the biggest crackers of the year and shone the brightest! Ayushmann Khurrana's Badhaai Ho, Arjun Kapoor's Namaste England, Sohum Shah's Tumbbad - Ranking all October 2018 Bollywood Releases From WORST to BEST!

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor gave a performance of a lifetime in Sanju, the Sanjay Dutt biopic. While the movie feels like a whitewashing experiment for its subject, Sanju became the highest grossing film of the year, as well as in Ranbir's career. There is also a high chance that he could grab away most of the awards for the Best Actor next year.

Alia Bhatt

Since her debut back in 2012, Ali Bhatt has been growing exceptionally well as an actress. This year, she became perhaps the only actress in Bollywood to deliver a Rs 100 crore hit riding solely on her slender shoulders in Raazi.

Ranveer Singh

While Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor were really good in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Rs 300 crore grossing magnum opus, Padmaavat, it was Ranveer Singh who stole the show with a deliciously entertaining performance. As the antagonist Alauddin Khilji, Ranveer hogged most of the limelight, making many even jibe that the movie should have been renamed Khilji instead!

Varun Dhawan

While his detractors often tend to dismiss Varun as a more exuberant Salman Khan, the actor proved himself to be a performer of a diverse range in histrionic abilities this year. Taking big risks and disregarding his box office success streak, Varun gave two incredible performances this year with October and Sui Dhaaga.

Vicky Kaushal

Critics knew him as a fine actor. In 2018, masses also agreed with them on this aspect. Vicky Kaushal found mainstream success and huge fan adoration with his performances in Sanju and Raazi. He was also incredible in Love Per Square Foot and Manmarziyan.

Kartik Aaryan

Did anyone expect a Pyaar Ka Punchnama movie to break the Rs 100 crore box office barrier and emerge one of the most profitable hits of the year? It did happen and turned its lead actor, Kartik Aaryan, into one of the hottest leading men in demand for the producers.

Rajkummar Rao

Rajkummar Rao is a brilliant actor and he has been going through one of the best phases of his career, performance-wise. While he has delivered hits in the past like Bareilly Ki Barfi, a mammoth success was not seen in his kitty. Until Stree came and its surprisingly huge success made Rao a Rs 100 crore star.

John Abraham

This brawny star has still a long way to go to become a terrific actor, but in 2018, John Abraham proved that his script sense is rocking. Delivering two hits this year, one in which he was a producer, John Abraham is on top form. He is also in big competition with Akshay Kumar to steal the 'nationalist hero' tag from him.

Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee Pannu may not have set the box office on fire this year. But she has shown Bollywood that she deserves to be considered as one of the finest actresses of this generation. With two extremely strong performances in Mulk and Manmarziyan, I would be extremely disappointed if Taapsee doesn't bag some of the acting honours during the award season next year.

Ayushmann Khurrana

October 2018 totally belong to one man - Ayushmann Khurrana. Which actor can boast of having two films coming out in a single month and turning both of them into hits, while also winning over the critics in the process? Ayushmann Khurrana once again proved again, with AndhaDhun and Badhaai Ho, that he has a terrific script sense and was rewarded with his first Rs 100 crore success with BH.
