The brutal murder of Telangana veterinarian has left everyone in shock and as India grieves the loss of another young woman succumbing to a violent crime, the country is raging with anger as heinous incidents against women continue to be on the rise in society. While this incident left netizens enraged as they took to social media to discuss on whether capital punishment is the only way to teach the perpetrators a lesson, Bollywood too has reacted to this incident. Several actors took to social media to express their grief and also anger over this incident.

Director Shoojit Sircar has now reacted to Bollywood celebs talking about morality and why it's important that they must first take responsibility of their 'filmy ethics'. Taking to Twitter, the director wrote about the duality of celebs. He wrote, "Bollywood pahle hum to sudhar jaye... phir gyaan de duniya ko... naitikta( morality) per gyan ya protest zaroor karein lekin sath me pahle apna filmy ethics chk karo..pahle hum apne duality ko sudhare.."

Sircar's reaction comes a few days after actors such as Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan had posted about the incident and spoke about correcting the mindset of society towards women. After the news of the horrific incident hit the news, actor Akshay Kumar tweeted saying, "We seem to be losing it as a society. It has been 7 yrs to the gut-wrenching #Nirbhaya case & our moral fabric continues to be in pieces. We need stricter laws. This needs to STOP!”

Also, actor Salman Khan had tweeted about the incident, he said, "These r the worst kind of shaitans disguised in the human form! The pain, torture n death of innocent women should now get us together n put an end to such shaitans who live among us, before any other innocent woman...n their family go through this extreme agony n loss as this has to be stopped."

After Sircar's tweet, several Twitter users came in support of the October director and mentioned how it is hypocritic of stars to give out such statements when their films promote a different kind of attitude and are not careful about the representation of women.
