Anirban Blah, the former founder of Kwan - a celebrity talent management company, has been rescued by the Mumbai police after trying to attempt suicide. Recently, Anirban had been asked to step down from his position in the company, after several sexual harassment allegations were levelled against him. At the time of writing the report, it is not sure if this is the reason why Anirban planned to take the drastic step. #MeToo: Anirban Das Blah, Head of KWAN Entertainment That Manages Deepika Padukone, Asked To Step Aside From His Duties.
As per a report in The Hindu, the incident was reported to have happened at 12.30 am. The traffic police in Vashi was alerted by a tip that a man was suspected of jumping from the Vashi creek bridge. A senior cop in the traffic department told the newspaper, "We had information about an individual coming towards Vashi bridge to commit suicide. We couldn't take chance and we laid a trap there in dark." Is KWAN Entertainment LYING about Anirban Das Blah Being Ousted From The Company?
The cop added, "He was crying. He seemed very frustrated and depressed. We took him to the police chowky, offered him water and asked his problem to which he said that he was frustrated with the #Metoo allegations on him. He was depressed due to the defamation he and his family faced. He along with nine other partners had founded KWAN and after four girls alleged him of harassment in #Metoo campaign, he was asked to resign."
In such incidents, a case would have been registered against Blah for attempting to end his life. Now here comes the contradiction. Another officer, senior police inspector Anil Deshmukh from Vashi police station told the paper, "The traffic police handed him to us but we haven't charged him as he has not done any (suicidal) act. He told us that he had come for a walk at the bridge. After his family reached, we handed him over to them." If the man has really gone for a walk, then why did the traffic police catch him climbing the barricades? Your guess is good as ours!
