Aamir Khan, the Mr Perfectionist of Bollywood, didn't exactly have a perfect personal life per se. He is currently, by his own admission, perfectly happy with his current wife, Kiran Rao. But a few years back, Aamir Khan had seen some troubled times when his first marriage with Reena Dutta broke. Many had accused Kiran Rao of being the home-wrecked in that case, since Aamir married her soon after. Both Aamir and Kiran had never spoken much about what happened then, until recently.

During an interview with a Chinese website, Aamir had talked about his breaking of his first marriage and how Kiran Rao, who worked as an AD in his first home production, came into his life. He revealed, “I met Kiran when I was doing Lagaan. She was one of the ADs on that but at that time, we didn’t have any relationship, we were not even great friends. She was one of the people on the unit."

Aamir then confessed that it was after his divorce, that they came closer. He continued, "It was after my separation and divorce after some time that I met her again. In that moment of trauma, her phone came and I talked to her on the phone for half an hour. And when I put the phone down, I said, ‘My God! I feel so happy when I talk to her.’ It struck me in that instant that when I am talking to her I am so happy."

Aamir also revealed that both the women in his life have been stronger than him. He said, "She is a wonderful person as well. Sometimes a relationship doesn’t work but I have a lot of love and respect for her. In fact, we are working together on this Paani project. She is the COO of the company." Aamir Khan is currently shooting for Thugs of Hindostan, which is currently scheduled to release during Diwali. A period pirate saga, the movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
