Did Katrina Kaif Ditch Salman Khan's Bharat For Varun Dhawan's Dance Movie?

After the super success of Tiger Zinda Hai, gargantuan expectations are riding on Salman Khan and director Ali Abbas Zafar's next, Bharat.

After the super success of Tiger Zinda Hai, gargantuan expectations are riding on Salman Khan and director Ali Abbas Zafar's next, Bharat. The official remake of the Korean movie An Ode To My Father, Bharat will show different eras in Indian history beginning from the partition saga in 1947. Ali Abbas Zafar has already begun the pre-production of the movie, with Salman Khan soon set to join soon after he completes the shoot for Race 3 and Dus Ka Dum. However, the leading lady has not been finalised yet.

As per certain reports, both Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra are the frontrunners for the role. However, a report in DNA had earlier speculated that Katrina Kaif has beaten Priyanka Chopra to bag the role. The gossip made sense since Katrina Kaif was basically besties with Zafar, and she was also the lead in Tiger Zinda Hai. So why breaking a winning combo?

However, it looks like Katrina Kaif is not going to be a part of the movie. As per a report in Filmfare, she will be opting for the movie with Varun Dhawan that is touted as India's biggest dance movie. It is directed by Remo D'Souza, who, interestingly, is directing Salman Khan in Race 3.

Earlier Katrina has shared her enthusiasm on working with Varun Dhawan for this project. She had said, "I am super excited to be joining Remo’s vision... Varun’s passion is so wonderful; he works tirelessly to create magic... I can’t wait to start this journey."

And it is not just this dance movie. She is also busy completing the shoot for both Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan and Shah Rukh Khan's Zero. So Katrina is having quite a busy schedule.

Now with Katrina Kaif reportedly out of the race, we wonder who will be replacing her in the movie. Will Priyanka Chopra return to the race again or will Zafar manage to work something out so that Katrina Kaif can return to the project? And above all, what's Salman Khan's take on this?
