Dia Mirza Takes a Dig At Akshay Kumar For Having No Women Present At Bollywood Meet With PM Narendra Modi!

Earlier this week, some members of the Bollywood fraternity met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Raj Bhawan Mumbai to discuss the problems faced by the industry. Primary among the attendees were Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Sidharth Roy Kapur, Rakesh Roshan and others. Te celebs who attended the meeting were happy that the Prime Minister listened to their issues and assured them that necessary steps will be taken. Many on Twitter pointed out how not a single woman was a part of the meet, that is supposed to present the problems of Bollywood. Gender disparity aside, this is a year where #MeToo movement in India has gained much prominence and this was a platform for the female celebs to talk to the PM about the problems they face. It is not just journalists and women empowerment campaigners who trolled the event. Akshay had put out a tweet where he thanked the PM for taking the time to hear out their issues -

To which, Dia Mirza tweeted to him with a serious burn about the lack of women in the room.

Good point, Dia! Hope more actresses show this kind of guts in calling spade a spade. But since she made that dig at Akshay, Dia has been replying back to a few trollers who have come in defence of the actor.

We also wonder what Twinkle Khanna, a staunch feminist herself with a wicked sense of humour, has to say on this issue.
