Many on Twitter pointed out how not a single woman was a part of the meet, that is supposed to present the problems of Bollywood. Gender disparity aside, this is a year where #MeToo movement in India has gained much prominence and this was a platform for the female celebs to talk to the PM about the problems they face. It is not just journalists and women empowerment campaigners who trolled the event. Even actresses too, like Dia Mirza who trolled her Bollywood counterpart, Akshay Kumar. To which, Dia Mirza tweeted to him with a serious burn about the lack of women in the room.

Good point, Dia! Hope more actresses show this kind of guts in calling spade a spade. But since she made that dig at Akshay, Dia has been replying back to a few trollers who have come in defence of the actor.
It’s not about competition! It’s such a fundamental thing. If we hope to achieve equality we must be included in all conversations! Of course women are doing well. We are doing well despite the fact that we are excluded. And doesn’t that need to change? https://t.co/D9ug3OG55U

You mean the agenda of the meeting that the men had did not merit the presence of women? Clearly you don’t believe women must be included in such conversations!?! Whoever planned that meeting did not consider it necessary to include women. You won’t question that? https://t.co/FGB2FOf3yP
