How many of y'all are acquainted with this popular Marathi song, 'Dhagala Lagali Kala'? We bet everyone has danced on its tunes at least once in his/her lifetime. The song filmed on Dada Kondke and Usha Chauhan is still so popular with the masses that planning a remake of the same doesn't seem like an abrupt idea. After Ek, Do, Teen, Saaki Saaki and Dilbar from recent times, it's time we welcome the remake of Dhagala Lagali Kala in Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha's Dream Girl.

Speaking about the inclusion of this fun and peppy track in his movie, director Raaj Shandilyaa in his conversation with DNA said, "Dhagala Lagli Kala is a classic, iconic song and we have danced to its tune for years. It is peppy, groovy and compels you to shake a leg. It was Ekta’s (Kapoor, producer) idea to recreate this popular foot-tapping number with the Ganpati festival being around the corner. We loved the idea, and feel that as a promotional track, it will widen the scope of the film beyond communities. Our first song, Radhe Radhe, celebrates the spirit of Janmashtami and this one releasing during Ganeshotsav will pump up the festivities.”Ayushmann Khurrana Reveals ‘Dream Girl’ Is His Most Fearless Performance.

But considering how Zingaat song from Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter's Dhadak faced backlash for ruining the originality, we are curious to predict the future of this remake. Speaking about the same changes that they have additionally added, Raaj said, "This song has a different vibe and it’s got amazing Marathi parts, which has a rap-like melody that we have sung ourselves. It has got amazing catchy Marathi beats and we have also added some live guitars as well as electronic programs around it." We do hope Meet Bros are able to justify this iconic song and not turn into a classic case of remake gone wrong.
