Dhadak Box Office Collection Day 1: Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter’s Film Beats Students of the Year, Opens to Rs. 8.71 Crores in India

Looks like Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor have spun magic with their performances in Dhadak. The film opened to Rs. 8.71 crore at the box office beating the opening day collections of Student Of The Year, which was Rs. 8 crore. Despite the film getting a mixed response from critics and a lot of fans comparing the film to the original Marathi film, Sairat, it has managed to break records. We wonder what the weekend collections will look like. Will Dhadak break opening weekend collections of other films this year?

Trade expert, Taran Adarsh, tweeted the numbers calling it a heroic start. Well, we agree with the trade analyst on that. It is a heroic start. Dhadak got pretty good reviews from B-Town celebs who went for the screening. All of them were proud of the young debutants for shining in the movie. The movie has been in the news ever since Karan Johar announced that he will be remaking Sairat in Bollywood. Dhadak's trailer also promised us a lot of romance and visual appeal. Dhadak's title track, another romantic number called Pehli Baar and the Hindi version of Zingaat kept the internet very busy.
