Deepika Padukone was the prettiest bride at her wedding ceremony at Lake Como, Italy. Dressed in a red Kanjeevaram saree with gold zari, she stuck to her tradition and wasn't hesitant to flaunt it at the international venue. While her bridal trousseau was designed by ace fashion designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the sarees she wore for the Konkani wedding and her Bengaluru reception were bought from a store in Bengaluru. The designer was heavily criticised for wrongfully taking the credit for someone else's work but he was quick to correct his blunder. While one may assume if the original designer is pissed with Mukherjee was this faux pas, the reality is very different from it. Shraddha Kapoor’s Rumoured Boyfriend, Rohan Shrestha Was the Reason She Was Invited to DeepVeer's Intimate Reception Party in Mumbai.
Radharaman, the owner of the House of Angadi Galleria (the store Deepika bought her sarees from) in his recent interaction with IANS revealed he has no qualms and such mistakes are usually unintentional. When asked his reaction to Sabyasachi controversy, he said, "I do not and never did have any intention of being critical of Sabyasachi Mukherjee or anyone else. I do not have any negative sentiment towards anyone and we did thank him publicly on social media for giving credit to us after we pointed the error to him." However, he thinks taking credit for other's work is not fair and that's the only reason he was obligated to speak up in the first place. "That said, when I was informed that another design label had claimed credit for my work, I felt obligated to speak up on behalf of the entire design community of which we are all a part of." Deepika's red Kanjeevaram saree had a certain significance related to Karnataka, the place where she hails from. In his chat with TOI, he revealed intricate details of her saree and the reason why she chose it. He said, "The Konkani tradition demands that the mother chooses the sari that the bride wears during the wedding ceremony. Deepika was with her mother when the wedding sari was picked. The family has been our customer for many years. Deepika liked this particular sari, which is a limited-edition design. This Kanjeevaram real zari brocade sari with a broad border is also significant as it has the gandaberunda (the two-head eagle that is the emblem of Karnataka state) motif in the body. The gandaberunda symbolises royalty and tradition in equal measure." Deepika's saree certainly looked royal and we are glad she picked an all traditional look for her both the ceremonies. But it's time she ditches it and goes a bit easy for her upcoming reception in Mumbai.
