Deepika Padukone's 'Ghoomar', Alia Bhatt's 'Ae Watan', Taapsee Pannu's 'Daryaa': Best Bollywood Songs of 2018 That Restored Our Faith in Good Music
Which one is your favourite?
Every year, when it comes to choosing the best songs of the year, I kind of freak out because of it so as hard as picking the favourite child. However, this year it was much easier for me. Just when I sat to write the list of one of the most celebrated soulful songs of the year, I could not go beyond a few tracks. This year was full of content-based films but music-wise, I am a bit disappointed. Salman Khan in Race 3, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Fanney Khan, Sonam Kapoor in Veere Di Wedding - 15 Most Disappointing Performances of 2018.
However, there are a few songs that actually touched the hearts of the music lovers, including me, irrespective of what the content was. The songs mentioned here are the best picks of the year not the only picks of the year. You might find at least five of these songs in your own playlist, if not all! Let's dive into the list of 10 most-loved songs of the year!
Ghoomar (Padmaavat)- Composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the song broke the internet within minutes of releasing it. Deepika Padukone's beautiful dance number is still fresh in the minds of her fans.
Ae Watan (Raazi)- This song is composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and written by Gulzar. The beauty of this song is not only in the melody but also in the carefully chosen words. Unlike the usual patriotic songs, the lyrics of this track fit perfectly into the situation where the both, Pakistanis and Indians saw this song dedicated to their own country.
Ahista Ahista (Laila Majnu)- This one is clearly the most underrated song of the year. The beautiful love story of Imtiaz Ali's modern-day Laila Majnu gets a touch of this wonderful song composed by Niladri Kumar and written by Irshad Kamil.
Namo Namo (Kedarnath)- In the age of heart-thumping beats, this Amit Trivedi track was like searching your own soul. The music blends into the serene locations of Kedarnath. Also, one gets to hear Lord Shiva's praises and tales in a contemporary manner. Such bliss!
Mere Naam Tu (Zero)- Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma's romantic track was lifted by this beautiful musical piece of the magical duo: Ajay-Atul. They have already given a lot of wonderful songs to the Marathi film industry. However, watching them getting the same thing done in this industry too gives us hopes of some more good music from them in the future.
Dhadak Title Track (Dhadak)- Again an Ajay-Atul number, this one was like a breath of fresh air amid the not-so melodious albums hitting the internet back to back. Shreya Ghoshal and Ajay Gogavale made the song hummable.
Daryaa (Manmarziyaan)- Amit Trivedi and Shellee touched the pulse of the gen x through this track. The WhatsApp generation finds this song more relatable and soothing than anything and this one turned out to be the much-liked one in no time.
Lae Dooba (Aiyaary)- Sunidhi Chauhan returned with a bang with this soft loving track. The video mostly shot in slow-motion takes us back to the mushy teenage love feels. Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shraddha Kapoor: Meet The Sartorial Stunners of 2018 - View Pics.
.
Naina Da Kya Kasoor (AndhaDhun)- The film's content turned out to be the trump card, making us forget all the factors. However, despite the eye-popping scenes and climax, this song remained in the minds even after leaving the theatres.
Tera Chaav (Sui Dhaaga)- The song turned out to be extremely soothing and melodious sung by Papon and Ronkini Gupta. Once again after "Moh Moh Ke Dhaage", Anu Malik managed to give us a similar track to add in our playlist.
These are some of the tracks from this year that managed to capture our attention widely. However, these are not the only songs that fit into the list and many of the other songs deserve a place in this list. Tell us the songs that you thnk we should have included in here in the top 10 songs of 2018!
