Deepika Padukone recently courted controversy after she was snapped outside director Luv Ranjan's office with Ranbir Kapoor sparking rumours that she may be starring in his next. This came as a shock to fans given that Ranjan has been accused of sexual harassment by a woman during the MeToo movement. Padukone's fans did not take it well and started to trend #NotMyDeepika on Twitter, in the hope that the actress would take notice and not go ahead with the project. While there hasn't been any official confirmation about the project, Deepika's latest response during an interview suggests that she may have rejected the film. Is It Indeed Happening? Recently, Deepika graced the cover of Vogue magazine for the August issue and it was a treat to see the actress in a no-makeup look for it. In the interview, after being asked if she would work with someone who has been accused of sexual harassment, Deepika responded saying, "No! I would not." Many fans of the star are now taking this as her confirmation that she won't be a part of the Luv Ranjan project. Given that the actress is one of the most successful leading ladies in Bollywood today, fans want her to take a strong stand on these matters.

After Tanushree Dutta came forward as a force in bringing the MeToo movement in Bollywood, an actress alleged that director Luv Ranjan had asked her to strip when she went to audition for a movie in 2010. While Luv denied any wrongdoing, actress Nushrat Bharucha, the lead in four of his films including Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Akaash Vani, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and most recent Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, came in defence of the director saying she felt safe working with him. Deepika Padukone and Nushrat Bharucha Join Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor's Action Thriller with Luv Ranjan?
