Rumour mills were abuzz that Deepika Padukone was offered to play the role of Draupadi in Aamir Khan's Mahabharata. The project is one of the most ambitious ones in Aamir's list and tends to put his heart and soul in it. The film was announced long back and he has always shown keen interest in making a movie on the lines of the epic mythological story. However, despite knowing how big a movie it's gonna be, Deepika Padukone has rejected the part offered to her. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actress has turned down the offer and we wonder if it has got something to do with the debacle of Thugs of Hindostan. The Aamir Khan-Amitabh Bachchan starrer promised to be one helluva movie but when it hit the silver screens, the audience were disappointed majorly. Anyway, as for Dippy, husband Ranveer Singh recently revealed in an interview with Filmfare how she is now being very choosy about scripts and doesn't want to do movies until she is fully convinced. "She's selective about her films. She wasn't committing to any project for the last two years. But now that she has, she has selected one of the highest order (Meghna Gulzarís biopic on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal). She's going to pour her heart and soul into it. She wanted to be sure if it was worth it. I respect her for taking her own time to take that decision. I was so happy and relieved that she finally liked something," he said. An official confirmation from DP about Mahabharata is awaited.
