While Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's Italian wedding pictures continue to go viral on the internet, there's something about the wedding that hasn't gone down too well with an Italian Sikh organization. The couple got married in an Anand Karaj ceremony in Italy on November 15 and the organization has expressed discomfort over the rituals of the ceremony. The Anand Karaj ceremony takes place in a Gurudwara in the day with the bride and groom sitting next to each other. The bride is supposed to sit on the left side of the groom as he sits facing towards the Guru Granth Sahib. Since DeepVeer's wedding rituals took place at Lake Como, it was clearly not a gurudwara where they took vows. This means they can't name the ceremony as Anand Karaj. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh Are Expected to Do This Ahead of Their Bangalore Reception - Read Details.

According to The Tribune, Sukhdev Singh Kang, President of Indian Sikh Community Italy has reportedly said that the Akal Takht ‘hukumnama’ very clearly and strictly prohibits taking Guru Granth Sahib to a place other than a GurdwaraDeepika Padukone – Ranveer Singh Wedding Album: Witness All the Pictures From This Power Couple’s Italian Wedding Right Here.

According to The Tribune, Kang also said that he would be writing to Akal Takht Jathedar to take some action against it. "It was a major lapse on the part of the gurudwara management," Kang was quoted by The Tribune. The report states that Bhai Narinder Singh is a "hazoori raagi" of the Golden Temple, Amritsar and flew to perform the wedding ceremony in Italy. Will the couple and their families be able to tackle this issue or will this take an ugly turn? We hope not!
