The 64th edition of the Vimal Filmfare Awards was recently held at the Jio Garden in Mumbai and the who's who from the film industry were gathered under one roof. Staying true to its reputation of being the most fashionable night of the year, the starry night had witnessed some of the most fashionable red-carpet appearances and sizzling performances by Bollywood biggies, including Shah Rukh Khan, Rajkumar Rao, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and many more. Though Alia’s fans can't stop gushing about her win, Deepika Padukone's fans are quite disappointed with the verdict as she too was nominated in the Best Actor (Female) category for her act in Padmaavat. As the 33-year-old actress, who essayed the role of Rani Padmini in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, lost out to the Raazi actress, fans took to social media to express their dismay over Alia's win. Yes, one of Deepika's fan clubs not only blasted the organisers for choosing Alia over Deepika, but they also questioned the jury for letting Ranveer Singh and Ayushmann Khurrana share the Best Actor award and not do the same for the Best Actress Award. 64th Vimal Filmfare Awards 2019: Sridevi Given a Tribute at the Ceremony In Presence of Boney, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor - View Pic

On the professional front, Deepika is all geared up for her first collaboration with Meghna Gulzar. The duo has teamed up for the upcoming biographical drama, 'Chhapaak'. Meanwhile, Alia will be seen next on the big screen in Abhishek Varman's Kalank, which also features Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in pivotal roles. Touted to be a drama set against the Partition and independence struggle in the 1940s, Kalank is scheduled to open in theatres on April 19.
