Earlier in the day, Deepika Padukone took off to Delhi to launch a book on the legendary actress, Sridevi. The book titled, 'Sridevi: The Eternal Screen Goddess', was announced by publication house Penguin India on the late actress' 56th birth anniversary. It has been penned by screenwriter Satyarth Nayak, with a foreword written by Kajol. It was Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor, popular film producer, who requested the Chhapaak actress to launch the book and she did not take a second to agree. In the past, she has also launched an autobiography on Hema Malini. Clad in a beautiful ivory saree, Deepika revealed that she used to receive personalised notes from Mr India actress appreciating her performances.
Deepika shed light on her relationship with Sridevi. She said that maybe belonging to South India led them to have that connect. But they spoke about everything under the sun, from movies to worrying about their house help. Deepika said, "I said yes [to launch the book] not just because it was Sridevi, but it was a person I was extremely fond of at a personal level. Which I think not many people are aware of."
In the past, Deepika and Sridevi have appeared together on screen very briefly, when both agreed for cameo roles on Shah Rukh Khan's Zero. The movie released in December 2018.
