Alia Bhatt's recent statement on wage disparity in Bollywood might not impress you. The dimpled beauty has been ruling Bollywood with the choice of her films backed by her stellar acting skills. The 25-year-old actress pulled off variety of roles easily, making her one of the youngest inspirations in B-town. However, she feels that she DOES NOT DESERVE to get paid as much as her contemporary actor Varun Dhawan does! We are sure that fans will beg to differ! While actresses like Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and more are fighting against the norm of pay-disparity in Bollywood, it is sad to see that Alia 'thinks' that she does not pull enough crowd to the theaters as much as Varun does!

In an interview to DNA, the Udta Punjab star said, "Investing money in a film is directly co-related to the people you are bringing to the theatre. I’m not delusional that the same number of viewers who go to watch Varun’s movies will come to see my work. He has a wider reach than me. That’s why I can’t expect that the same amount of money, which is invested in his solo-starrers, is invested in mine, too."

She also further stated that one cannot be categorical about everything because every actor and movie is different. Well, may be Alia is still unaware about the popularity and the love she gets from the audience out there. She totally pulls all the crowd and deserves to get paid as much as her Kalank co-star Varun Dhawan does! Did she forget Dear Zindagi or Raazi?

Sonakshi Sinha, who will also be next seen with Bhatt in Kalank, was quoted saying, "If a filmmaker shows that kind of trust in a woman, and if she brings the returns [on investment], you can and should give her the pay that you give to the men." On the other hand, PeeCee was quoted saying, "I want to see the day where female-led movies get as much of a run as the boys do, which means the ticket-buying audience needs to be open to that."

There are many more actresses who are raising their voice against this patriarchal norm, not only in Bollywood but also in the Hollywood. In this case, we are unsure how Alia's take on wage disparity will be taken by her colleagues and fans. Lastly, all we would love to tell Alia is that she deserves as much admiration as Varun does and there are no second thoughts about this!
