De De Pyaar De Box Office Collection Day 8: Ajay Devgn and Tabu's Romantic Comedy Is Steady Despite New Releases, Mints Rs 64.63 Crore
De De Pyaar De also features Jimmy Shergill and Javed Jaffrey in guest roles.
Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh Starrer De De Pyaar De has completed a week in theatres and it's still getting cash registers ringing without any trouble. In fact, three new films arrived in cinema halls yesterday but it hardly affected the rom-com which is helmed by the first time director Akiv Ali and is written by Luv Ranjan. De De Pyaar De, which is Devgn's second outing of the year, released on May 17 and garnered pretty much good reviews from the critics. Though the film took an ordinary opening, it performed well over the first weekend and since then there has been no looking back for the movie. De De Pyaar De Box Office Collection Day 7: Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh Starrer Has an Impressive Week 1, Rakes in Rs 61.05 Crore
Popular film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter just a while back and announced the updated figures. He wrote, "#DeDePyaarDe is steady, despite Hollywood biggie #Aladdin and new Hindi movies taking away substantial screens, shows and footfalls... Should catch speed on [second] Sat and Sun... [Week 2] Fri 3.58 cr. Total: ₹ 64.63 cr. India biz. #DDPD."
Further, Boxofficeindia.com has reported, "The drop from day one is just a little over 60% which is good but that is mainly because day one was not good. The second Friday number should have confirmed its HIT status but it still has work to do. The problem for the film is that it has not been liked in the Hindi belt much so is basically remaining a 10-12 city film. The appreciation in places like CP Berar and CI is less than Luka Chuppi and if the film does not emerge a HIT in the final run, it will be because of this." De De Pyaar De Box Office Collection Day 6: Ajay Devgn Starrer Rom-Com Is Going Rock Steady at the Ticket Windows, Earns Rs 56.57 Crore
Yesterday, Arjun Kapoor starrer India's Most Wanted hit the screens alongside Vivek Oberoi's controversial film PM Narendra Modi and Will Smith's Aladdin. While De De Pyaar De continued its good run despite all these films, only time will tell how far Ajay's movie will go in the box office race.
