Akiv Ali's debut directorial venture De De Pyaar De has done good business at the Indian box office so far. The film starring Ajay Devgn in the lead arrived in theatres last week and got off to a slow start after opening to mixed reviews from the critics. The romantic comedy, however, picked up the pace over the weekend and ended up collecting Rs 38.54 crore in the first three days at the domestic box office. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter a while back and revealed the updated figures. He wrote, "#DeDePyaarDe puts up a strong total on Mon... Plexes [Mumbai, Delhi-NCR] are driving the biz... Needs to maintain the pace on weekdays to cover lost ground... Fri 10.41 cr [incl Thu previews], Sat 13.39 cr, Sun 14.74 cr, Mon 6.19 cr. Total: ₹ 44.73 cr. India biz. #DDPD."

Further, Boxofficeindia.com stated, "De De Pyaar De is looking to be a HIT film as it held up very well on Monday with collections in the 5.75-6 crore nett range. The drop is around 25-30% from the first day which is strong trending. The first week is looking to be 57 crore nett approx which is a good total and a great result considering day one was not much more than 8 crore nett. The best business of the film is going to come from Delhi NCR and East Punjab though the latter might be affected by Punjabi releases on Friday." De De Pyaar De Box Office Collection Day 2: Ajay Devgn’s Romcom Witnesses a Big Jump on Saturday, Mints Rs 23.80 Crore

Apart from Ajay, the rom-com also stars Tabu, Rakul Preet Singh, Jimmy Shergill and  Javed Jaffrey in important roles. Sunny Singh is also in the film which is written by Luv Ranjan but only has a guest appearance.
