Sanjay Dutt has a massive fan following in India, but little did he know that some of the fans admire him beyond his roles and movies. A 66-year-old Malabar hill resident named Nishi Harishchandra Tripathi willed the money from her account to the actor’s account. Surprisingly, Dutt got a phone call from the police telling him about the money given by his fan who died just fortnight ago. The Khalnayak actor instantly issued a letter to the Bank of Baroda’s Walkeshwar branch saying that he had no clue who Nishi was, and that the money must be handed over to her family.

Sanjay Dutt’s attorney Subhash Jadhav clarified that the bank account is sealed yet and that the actor is nowhere related to Nishi or her money. Tripathi’s family came to know about the development after the prayer meet of the member and as the legal adviser informed them about the will.

As per the reports in Mumbai Mirror, the Munnabhai MBBS actor reacted saying, “As actors, we are used to fans naming their children after us, chasing us down the street and even giving us gifts. But this has shocked me. I will not be claiming anything. I did not know Nishi and I am very overwhelmed by the entire incident to speak about it.” On the other hand, Dutt’s attorney Jadhav said, “We have communicated that Sanjay Dutt will be seeking no claim on the belongings and will adhere to any legal proceedings necessary to transfer the valuables back to the family.”

Now we know why films like Fan hold true to some extent as these stars actually take their fandom for the on-screen personas to a crazy level. Stay tuned to Latestly.com for more Bollywood updates.
