Commando films compete with the other films from the series and the third one has managed to leave the last two films behind in three days.
The Commando series has this interesting and amusing quality of making money when nobody is expecting much from it. The first film managed a decent sum while Commando 2 pocketed riches too. Now, the third film has managed to put in good first weekend numbers. In three days, Commando 3 has earned Rs 18.33 crore. While the first day started slow, Saturday and Sunday brought in good numbers for the film which helped it get sound opening weekend numbers. In fact, the opening weekend of Commando 3 is more than its last films from the series. Commando had earned Rs 11.18 crore and Commando 2 collected Rs 15.75 crore in the same period. It seems with every film, the franchise manages to score a bigger number.
Now both the previous films wound up in the range of Rs 21-25 crore. If Commando 3 manages to keep its trending well in the weekdays, it may be able to go beyond that.
