Commando 3 is the other film that released alongside Hotel Mumbai last Friday. Both started on a slow note but have managed to pick up on Saturday. Commando 3 especially is doing better than the film on the 26/11 attacks on Taj. The film earned Rs 10.38 crore in two days with day 2 earnings being Rs 5.64 crore. Commando 3 Movie Review: Vidyut Jammwal, Angira Dhar, Adah Sharma’s Action Film Is Fun and Entertaining but Oh-So-Silly

Commando 2 in 2017 had earned better numbers on day 1. It had earned Rs 5.14 crore on day 1 which was a much improvement from Rs 3 crore or more that the original film had earned on its first day. Commando 3 also has good number of screens because there's no competition from a big movie. It has released in 2456 screens.

The Commando franchise has this weird and interesting habit of making money when nobody is looking. It started with the first film when it clashed with Ayushmann Khurrana's Nautanki Saala. The actioner managed to mint money and so did the second installment. So the third film may manage to make the money it is expected to since it hardly has any competition. A 15 crore opening weekend won't be a too far-fetched a destination for it.
