Nitesh Tiwari’s film Chhichhore opened to positive responses, however it failed to show the magic in terms of box office collection. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor as the lead pair, the film that revolved around the lives of college students who end up becoming best friends and their journey ahead was a nostalgic ride for many. On the day of its release, Chhichhore managed to mint Rs 7.32 crore. The total collection, until September 11 is Rs 61.33 crore. The highest collection was seen on September 7 and 8. On the opening weekend it Chhichhore collected Rs 12.25 crore and Rs 16.41 crore, respectively. But it couldn’t manage to maintain that record in the following days. Although the collection has been decent enough, expectations were high that it would manage to garner strong figures over the weekdays. On September 11 it minted Rs 7.20 crore. Trade expert Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Chhichhore continues its winning streak... The super-strong hold on weekdays increases its chances of hitting ₹ 💯 cr... Fri 7.32 cr, Sat 12.25 cr, Sun 16.41 cr, Mon 8.10 cr, Tue  10.05 cr, Wed 7.20 cr. Total: ₹ 61.33 cr. #India biz.”

It was just a week before Chhichhore, another film of Shraddha Kapoor hit the big screens – Saaho. The action thriller turned out to be a huge hit across the globe. It has garnered strong figures at the box office. On September 13 Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl and Akshaye Khanna’s Section 375 are going to be released.
